Recently Zoya opened up on the casting of the movie and revealed that initially, Agastyadid not want to act since he wanted to take up business.
While talking to The Free Press Journal, Zoya spoke more on this. She said that everyone knew it’s an ensemble cast of seven characters. Every character has a beginning, middle, and end. They know what to accept. She added that Agastya, Suhana, and others were all auditioned. She also said that they wanted the characters in the age group of 17 years, however, Agastya didn’t want to act. He is into business, but was tested and he came for an audition.

She also opened up on the young cast and said that because these comic characters are iconic, fresh and new faces were ideal to be cast. She said that if you take any star, they would come with baggage, so, they wanted fresh new actors so they look believable.
While on the movie, the teen flick has opened to mixed reviews from audience and critics alike.
Since its release, Suhana, Agastya and Khushi have been getting criticised for their acting skills and their performances in the film. While many social media users are trolling the star kids, Raveena Tandon recently found herself in hot water when netizens noticed that the actress liked a post trashing one of Agastya and Khushi’s scenes from The Archies with a caption that reads, ‘Acting died here.’
As soon as people started talking about Raveena dismissing the newcomers performances, she took to Twitter to clarify that the like was made in error while she was scrolling through random Instagram posts.
“Touch buttons and social media. A genuine mistake has been blown out of proportion. The like was made in error, and something that I was not even aware of that had been pressed by scrolling. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and hurt this may have caused,” Raveena said in her note.
The Archies, a coming-of-age musical, follows the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton takes audiences to the fictional hilly town of Riverdale. The film explores friendship, freedom love, heartbreak and rebellion. It also stars Aditi Saigal aka Dot, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda.
