Akshay Kumar is an Indian actor, film producer, and television personality whose full name is Akshay Hari Om Bhatia, who works predominantly in Bollywood cinema. He was born on 9 September 1967 in Delhi, India. Through his acting skills, styling, and calm nature, he is the recipient of several awards in Hindi cinema.

He is the recipient of the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2016 for his performance in Rustom (2016) and has been nominated several times in Filmfare Awards, winning in two of them. In 2008, he received the Screen Awards for Best Actor and Popular Choice for Singh is King, and in 2009, he earned a nomination for the Asian Film Award for Best Actor.
He is also the winner of the Stardust Award for Star of the Year – Male in 2008, 2011, and 2013. In 2008, Akshay Kumar received an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the University of Windsor for his contribution to Indian cinema.
The government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri the following year. In 2011, Akshay Kumar was recognized by the Asian Awards for his accomplishments in Indian cinema.
